Crack avoidance in additively manufactured SS316L/Inconel 718 dissimilar joints through a high-entropy alloy buffer layer

A CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy buffer between SS316L and Inconel 718 limits direct dilution and avoids the Laves-forming composition path, suppressing interfacial cracking and giving stable, reproducible tensile behavior.

High-precision microthrusters fabricated by laser powder bed fusion

Optimized PBF-LB/M builds a 100 mN-class Ti-6Al-4V microthruster with a 0.5 mm thin-walled chamber and 180 µm injector orifices at 99.95 % relative density; 60 s hot-fire tests gave stable 79.0–83.4 mN thrust and about 2.5 times the thrust-to-weight ratio of commercial sub-newton thrusters.
